Counseling That Supports
the Whole Student

LERU provides individual and group counseling for students in grades K–12. Our counseling team works with schools to support students whose mental health, behavior, attendance, relationships, family circumstances, or emotional well-being may be affecting their ability to learn and thrive.

Through consistent support, students are able to build stronger relationships with responsible adults, develop confidence, set goals, strengthen problem-solving skills, and learn healthier ways to manage challenges.

Areas of student need

What We Support

LERU counseling services may support students experiencing:

Emotional Distress

Anxiety, stress, sadness, grief, or emotional overwhelm that may affect how students show up, connect, and cope.

Behavioral Challenges

Conflict, disruptions, impulsive reactions, or difficulty self-regulating in the classroom or school community.

Trauma & Life Transitions

Family disruption, loss, instability, difficult experiences, or major changes that may impact a student’s emotional well-being.

Attendance & Disengagement

Absences, withdrawal, low participation, avoidance, or disconnection from school routines and relationships.

Confidence, Motivation & Academic Stress

Low self-esteem, reduced motivation, negative self-perception, or school pressure connected to emotional, social, or personal barriers.

Social Pressure & Isolation

Peer conflict, loneliness, social stress, pressure to fit in, or difficulty building healthy relationships.

Care, Connection, and Practical Support

Our Approach

LERU’s approach is student-centered, culturally responsive, and grounded in professional care. We help students feel heard, understood, and supported while working with schools to promote safer, more connected learning environments.

Our counselors and social workers use short-term interventions, goal-setting, reflection, problem-solving strategies, and supportive counseling practices to help students navigate challenges and strengthen their ability to cope.

When appropriate, we also help connect families to wraparound support and community-based resources.

Connect Counseling With Real-Time Student Insight

AssessED

Mental health support is strongest when schools can identify needs early, coordinate care, and track progress. AssessED helps schools do exactly that by giving social workers and school support teams a trauma-informed, equity-centered platform to assess, track, and respond to student needs through real time dashboards, early risk flags, shared case notes, and whole child data.

When paired with LERU counseling services, AssessED helps schools identify students who may need support sooner, track concerns across whole child domains, coordinate follow up between social workers and school staff, document support and progress, and use data to guide more timely intervention decisions.

MBK/MSK Student Empowerment

MBK/MSK gives students structured tools to reflect, build confidence, strengthen identity, and make healthier decisions. Through journals, curricula, and guided programming, students explore emotional wellness, responsibility, leadership, relationships, and future readiness.

This service helps schools support young people beyond academics by giving them practical resources to process life experiences, set goals, and develop the mindset needed to succeed in school and beyond.

Mentorship & Identity

MBK/MSK resources help students reflect on who they are, where they are going, and the choices that shape their future. These tools support conversations around self-worth, responsibility, leadership, and personal growth.

Mental Health & Reflection

Student journals and guided activities give young people space to process emotions, stress, peer pressure, conflict, and life experiences in a structured way. When paired with counseling, these resources help students turn reflection into healthier coping strategies.

College, Career & Life Readiness

MBK/MSK programming helps students connect emotional wellness to long-term goals, including academic success, post-secondary planning, career awareness, workforce readiness, and stronger decision-making.
